Birds and Animals of Tal Chhapar
Tal Chhapar is a Heaven for birds. There are almost 335 species of birds reported here. Major attraction is birds of prey or raptors.
Although it is known as a black bucks senctuary, there are many other wild animals found here like desert fox, desert cat, jungle cat, indian hare, golden jackal and indian gazelle.

Great experience Very good experience at Raptor's Inn at Tal Chapper. The accomodation is comfortable, very clean and well maintained and the food is amazing. Had a great time with the host Mr. Atul who is very knowledgeable about the birding in Rajasthan. The safari at Tal Chapper was also well managed by his team.

The best part of my stay as a photographer is Atul is also a very good photo artist and helps us to be at the right spot at right time. The best part of our stay is the tasty and beautiful food. Raptors Inn is a wonderful option for stay and birding at Tal Chhapar. The owner, Atul, is very knowledgeable and extremely down-to-earth and friendly. The vehicles for the safaris and the guides are very good and know the terrain and the habitat very well. All the staff at the homestay are very helpful and polite and take extra efforts to make the experience here memorable. The food quality is amazing.
A memorable stay highlighted by insightful conversations with Atul, the owner. Delicious food, attentive team, spacious room with welcoming balcony and gathering area. Bedding and modern bathroom as clean or cleaner than Marriott properties we often stay at in the U.S. We would stay longer next time to do more birding and take a cooking class on site. I can definitely see why this place has won awards - Atul made the experience very personal.
Wonderful Birding Photography Trip Feb 2025 • Friends I am Indonesian. I had wonderful birding photography trip to Rajashtan with Raptors Inn. The itinerary was organized at the right timing and the destinations are where specific birds that I am looking for. I had great photos from the trip and the number of species of raptors sighted and captured was beyond expectation. As they are local and based in Tal Chhapar, they know the best location for birds and the timing. Their network with local people is superb.
